When the World Suffers: How to Keep Faith and Make a Difference

universe Oct 01, 2025

It’s one of the hardest things about being human: watching others suffer and wondering why the Universe doesn’t step in...

Seeing injustice, suffering, loss, or hardship in humans, animals and nature can stir up deep questions about whether the Universe cares, and whether our prayers even matter.

But the truth is that how we respond — in thought, heart, and action — shapes not only our own path but the energy we bring into the collective.

Here’s a guide on how to approach it with gentleness and wisdom:

1. Bring Your Questions to the Universe

You don’t need to suppress the ache you feel when you see suffering. Honest prayer or quiet dialogue with the universe is powerful.

When we open our hearts — even with confusion or grief — we stay connected to the Source of wisdom and compassion. That openness is already a step toward healing.

2. Trust the Larger Story

It can look as if some people cry out for help and get no answer. But spiritual traditions remind us that the universe’s timing and ways often stretch beyond our current perspective.

Instead of interpreting delay as abandonment, we can hold the deeper view: that each soul’s journey has meaning, and what looks like silence may be part of a process we can’t yet see.

Often, transformation on the planet involves volunteer souls who are on the higher level willing to undergo challenges in order to be "whistle blowers" to catalyze positive change.

3. Your Energy Ripples Outward

We are never powerless observers. The attitude we cultivate — compassion instead of cynicism, hope instead of despair — shapes how we show up for others.

A calm, trusting heart can soothe a fearful friend. A word of encouragement can rekindle someone’s own faith. Like concentric circles on water, the vibration you hold influences more people than you realize.

Every thought and act of compassion is a seed sown into the wider field of humanity.

4. Act Where You Can

Prayer and inner alignment don’t mean passivity. They tune us to inspired action.

  • Offer practical help where you’re able — a meal, a donation, an open ear.
  • Personally, I have been a donor to animal organizations like WWF, ASPCA and Peta for years as the animals are so close to my heart. I started when I could only afford $10 or $30 per month, knowing that the monthly donation gave the organizations a reliable flow to invest in the animals' wellbeing.

Imagine if a million or ten million, or even just a few thousand people all contribute a little to a cause: Together we are more powerful than we think.
  • Focus on what would be a solution or solutions — this opens up to help and divine answers. If we all focus on the worst case scenarios and what drama we have seen in movies and history, the new and positive solutions can't as easily show up.
  • Speak up against injustice in ways that align with your values.
  • Keep your own spirit grounded so that you can be a stabilizing presence.

By joining inner faith with outward care, you become part of the answer to the very prayers you lift up.

5. Focus On The Highest Vision

Remember that we can pray for others and stand with them, but we can’t choose their path for them. Each person has their own relationship with the universe and their own timing for growth.

What we CAN do is to hold space for their highest, and see them as the powerful being(s) of light they are. We can also visualize a better world for the collective, just like we manifest in our own lives.

While we do this, don't lose hope if things initially don't seem to improve.

It means entrusting what we cannot change or see the path to resolving, to a wisdom greater than ours, while continuing to love and hope.

Focusing on solutions is powerful, and if you are feeling the pain of suffering from others or the planet — know that YOU are a soul who has volunteered to feel this in order to acknowledge the problems and imbalances, and be a portal to a higher state.

Don't think you are powerless. Your visions for a better world become the blueprints for it to arrive.

The Truth About Hope

When we see pain in the world, it’s natural to wonder whether the universe is listening.

Yet faith grows deeper when we keep showing up with love — praying, acting, and holding steady hope — even in the face of unanswered questions.

Every time we choose compassion over bitterness, we amplify light in the collective field.

We may not be able to prevent all suffering, but we can influence the story that unfolds by the vibration we carry and the care we offer.

Your attitude is not just personal — it’s part of the healing energy that ripples outward to touch lives you may never meet.

As always, I'm sending you so much love and light ❤️🌟
